AVM is presenting not one, but several new residential gateway products at Broadband World Forum 2005 in Madrid (Stand No. 3004). The new FRITZ!Box Fon 5010 is AVM's simple solution for newcomers to Voice over IP and other broadband applications. And AVM's FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170 shows how much convenience home users stand to gain from today's broadband solutions, with ports for analog terminal equipment, an ISDN NT1 bus, and a USB host for printers and disk drives. AVM's Stick & Surf technique, for automatically secure WPA2 wireless encryption with no interactive configuration, is unique in the world.

In the future AVM will continue to set the standards in triple-play solutions for private users. All of them offer easy Internet telephony using existing phones, without turning on the PC, and provide broadband applications such as WWW and TV with optimum quality of service. The new FRITZ!Box Fon 5010 for an easy transition to VoIP is making its trade fair debut in Madrid. In addition to providing all the popular features of the FRITZ!Box Fon product family, it automatically detects whether it is connected to an existing ADSL or cable modem or a broadband router, or whether it should enable its integrated modem and act as a self-contained gateway. The new top-of-the-line model, FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7170, in addition to its ports for ISDN and analog telephones and its Ethernet, USB, and WLAN connections, also provides a USB host, and shares the printers and disk drives connected to it with all users in the LAN. Furthermore, AVM's Stick & Surf technology-unique throughout the world-allows users to set up a WLAN with the security of WPA2 encryption, with no interactive configuration.
