ADSL modem / router connection

If you want to connect our ADSL modem/router to Internet , there is the question – How can you make it?
On the picture below you can see the several versions of connection:
1. ADSL line from POTS is connected to output of splitter (usually marks "Line"), which dividing telephone signals and ADSL a stream.
2. One and more phones are connected to output of splitter (usually marks "Phone"). The phones function simultaneously with data transfer.
3. ADSL modem/router is connected to output of splitter (usually marks "Modem" or "ADSL").
4. ADSL modem/router is connected to user’s computer via Ethernet cable.
